Philosophically I agree with avoiding plastics at all costs. As above so below... If I can't avoid 3D printing plastics, how do I expect the outside world to 'turn off the tap'? Have a sincere conversation with the earth about this. Read a chemical engineering newsletter. Plastics ain't it. Expecting people who commune w the planet to be into it seems like folly.

That's cool, but where do you draw the line? Runyon's Book of Solomon's Magick recommends gluing as well as joining the boards with screws. The elemental circle, when you follow his plans, is meant to be made from masonite and plywood, both heavily treated with chemicals and joined with a powerful glue like Gorilla Glue. You have to paint both and cover the tabletop with an enamel to protect it from all the stuff you're likely going to spill on it. No matter how you slice it, there's going to be a tremendous amount of chemicals used in this project. Like most of my points of contention with that outfit, their complaints about my work were always arbitrary. But that's also not really the takeaway I'm hoping folks get from this article.
